Nagykanizsa Horse Trials 2015

The 18th Nagykanizsa Horse Trials was organized on the weekend of 19-21 June, in beautiful surroundings on the bank of the Rowing Lake. Hungary’s second largest eventing competition - after Alag Horse Trials which was held up to CCI3*, qualifier competition for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, between 29-31 May - had 69 entries altogether with the national (CNC A0, A, B) and international (CIC1*/2*) categories.

Riders of four nations competed in Nagykanizsa. Beside the Hungarian riders athletes from Austria, Finland and Slovenia attended this traditional venue which was the host of the European Championship for Rural Riders in 2009. The show went smoothly, the weather was good except a small storm on the cross-country day that slightly rearranged the day's program.

The winner of the highest category, CIC2* was Micheal Spörk (AUT) and Face the Fact B. The winners of the other categories were Hungarian riders. The local riding club’s top rider László Egyed, who was individual competitor at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy won four categories: CIC1* (Viking), CNC A open (Hobo) and novice horse (Cenzor Szittya W), CNC A0 pre-novice horse (Cenzor Zéta W). István Varga and Galatea finished first in the highest national category, CNC B. There were two classes for juniors. In CNC A Janka Divják won with Vadvirág, in CNC A0 Boglárka Jelinek finished first with Cognac. In the amateur category of CNC A0 Zsófia Sára Fenyvesi won with Fortuna.
